Columbia’s Family-Owned Glass Company for Over 50 Years

Sheppard’s Glass is a family owned and operated glass company in Columbia, SC, handling auto, residential and commercial glass across the Midlands. Same family, same shop, for more than fifty years.

    Is Sheppard’s Glass a local, family-owned company?

Yes. Sheppard’s Glass is a family owned and operated glass company based in Columbia, South Carolina, started by Lonnie Sheppard and run by the family since. You are dealing with the same local company from the first call through to the finished job.

How long has Sheppard’s Glass served Columbia?

More than fifty years. The company has been family owned and operated for over 50 years serving Columbia, West Columbia, Lexington and the surrounding Midlands.

What areas does Sheppard’s Glass serve?

Columbia and West Columbia, plus Lexington, Irmo, Chapin, Cayce and the surrounding Midlands communities. If you are unsure whether you are in range, call the shop and ask.

What types of glass work does Sheppard’s Glass do?

Auto glass, residential glass and commercial glass. That covers windshields and car windows, shower doors, mirrors, tabletops and replacement window glass at home, and storefront and office glass for businesses.

Glass Repair and Replacement for Columbia, Lexington and Chapin

Broken window, cracked storefront, foggy double pane or a shower panel that has given way: glass repair and replacement is the bulk of what we do, for homes and businesses across Columbia, West Columbia, Lexington and Chapin. Our commercial glass team covers storefronts and offices.

Can a cracked window be repaired, or does it need full replacement?

It depends where the damage is. A chip or a short crack away from the edge can sometimes be stabilised, but once a crack reaches the edge of the pane the glass has lost its strength and replacement is the honest answer. We will tell you which one you are looking at rather than selling you the bigger job.

Do you repair commercial storefront glass?

Yes. Storefront glass, office partitions and entry doors are regular commercial work for us, and we can board up an opening the same day if the glass is out and the space needs securing before the replacement goes in.

    Is chipped shower glass repairable?

Usually not. Shower enclosures use tempered safety glass, which is designed to break into small pieces rather than crack, so a chip in tempered glass tends to mean the panel is compromised and should be replaced rather than patched.

Do you repair or replace foggy double-pane windows?

Fogging between the panes means the seal on the insulated glass unit has failed. The glass unit gets replaced rather than repaired, and in most cases the existing frame and sash stay exactly where they are.
